My son volunteered to change the oil on his girlfriend's chevy cruze if she would buy the oil and filter.
When she showed up she had the filter and 2 qts of oil, my son asked her why she only bought 2 qts "It's a 1.4 liter engine, duh" she said.
My wife was visiting our daughter at college last week. My daughter has a crappy, leaky BMW X3 that occassionally needs oil. I gave my wife a quart of oil to put in our daughters engine when she sees her at school. I instructed her to Facetime when she is ready to put it in the engine, so I can make sure it goes in the right fill hole. I said just put in a HALF QUART. Confident she knows what to do now. She hangs up. Calls me a minute later to announce, "It took the whole quart". I sighed and said, "failure to follow instructions."
I once had a customer who had a slight coolant leak on her (old 1970's model) Mini.
Her husband used to top it up every morning, until one morning he was away, so she decided to "removed the round cap" and filled it right to the brim with water ........................
Half a mile down the road it seized solid ..............
Yeah, you've guessed it, remove Oil Filler Cap and fill to the brim with about 3 - 4 gallons of water ? ?
