You have to put your money where your mouth is, and the latest video from TV vet Noel Fitzpatrick will show that he is as amazing a human being in life as he is on TV.

Fitzpatrick is also called Supervet, a moniker he earned once his Channel 4 reality show of the same name reached a worldwide audience. He once said he preferred the company of animals to that of men, because animals (dog, in particular) were his only friends when he was bullied as a kid.

In case you were wondering, Fitzpatrick is not putting on a show, as one of his most recent Facebook videos show. He was in Dublin the other day, on his way to do an interview, when he spotted a swan wandering through traffic.

Knowing that it would be harmed if no one stepped in, the vet jumped out of his cab and rushed to the rescue. This also meant stopping traffic long enough to have time to guide the poor swan back to its home, and wrapping it in his jacket when he caught it.

“Enroute to the next interview in Dublin this afternoon and we came across this poor confused fella who was stuck in the middle of the main road with cars all around. Having experienced many Swan rescues down the years I knew I could help…,” Fitzpatrick writes.

“So I jumped out the cab, stopped the traffic and gently coaxed the swan out of harms way into a nearby garden. Using my jacket I wrapped him up and held his body and neck securely as I carried him back home towards the canal. Happy and safe at home,” the vet adds.

Once the rescue mission was over, he gave his jacket a good shake, put it on and was on his way. The very fact that he didn’t check for droppings from the swan shows just how cool he is, his fans are saying (among other things) by means of response to his video.
