This might be a silly question, but how would I know whether or not my supercharger is "kicking in." I've seen some posts about the kompressor (supercharger) not kicking in on their SLK. I purchased mine used, so I'm wondering if I'm just not aware that it isn't kicking in because I never experienced it. My car accelerates fairly well, but doesn't blow me away by any means. I wouldn't say it accelerates any faster than my basic 6-cylinder sedan I drove previous to it (a Hyundai Sonata). Should I be concerned that my supercharger isn't kicking in? Is there any indication when it kicks in?

Again, I feel stupid asking this question, but am curious.

Simple test in this thread here.
And lots of description about the operation of teh supercharger, and what it feels like when it doesn't work.
