I just ordered a set of Vogtland springs and am now considering wheel setups. I know the rears will fit, but has anyone ever gone that wide on the front successfully? I would like to be able to rotate tires without giving up rear width.
Thanks Guys.

It will be touch and go with the +40 - but I have not done it, this is just a feel.
Mind you, you might be able to space out the offset. Would your tyre supplier maybe have an old tyre that could be fitted as a sample?

I run 245/35/18 in front. 245/40/18 is taller than 225/40/18. I also run 275/35/18 in the rear.

(18x8 ET35 front, 18x9 ET35 rear)

Fitment is perfect and I am lowered on coilovers around an inch lower than P30 packaged SLK55. I have a feeling ET40 with 245/40/18 would rub in front.

Update!

I've decided to experiment with a more aggressive setup.

Front is looking like a 255/35/R18 (9.5+30) Before: 225/45/R17 (7.5+37)
And Rear is Looking like a 255/35/R18 (9.5+28) Before: 245/45/R17 (8.5+30)

I'll Leave some diagrams of the changes down below.

9.5" in the front is possible, not sure with 255s though. Might rub like crazy. It will be interesting to see what you find out. You might need a lot of suspension bits to make this work. I think Arno ("Prop Dr") did a lot of similar work on his 55 years ago, and it was not simple.

Thank you for the warning.
