Cheers everyone! I am truly looking forward to enjoying an extended road-trip in our SLK250 to the lovely city of Charleston, SC this coming August!!! The US will be perfectly positioned for a total solar eclipse on August 21, and Charleston, SC is close enough that we should be able to kill two birds with one stone:

  1. Visit the historic port city of Charleston, SC
  2. Experience a full and complete solar eclipse

If anyone is unaware but curious as to the path of the totality, take a look at the following site which plots the entire observable totality from coast to coast:

Total Eclipse 2017

Still looking for more road-trip ideas.... Any suggestions?

Cheers!

I'll have to give this some thought. From the Northern Virginia area, that's got to be at least 14 hours of driving! ... However, Clermont is also only 3 ~ 4 hours from other family in Fort Lauderdale... Hmmmmm... (pensive!)
