Everyplace I've ever lived, whether it be in the US or overseas, there was always an automotive hobby shop near by. Well, there isn't one here in Moreno Valley. At least not on March Air Reserve Base. There used to be when it was an active-duty AF base, but it was shut down when the base went Reserve in the late 90's.

Anyway, does anyone know of anyplace in the Inland Empire where I could use/rent a bay with a lift? I've seen someplace in Baldwin Park @ $25/hr, which isn't a bad price considering, but is really not that close to me.

Just to throw it out there if someone in my vicinity (Riverside/San Bernadino Counties) is in the same boat...I came across an industrial complex in Riverside (Hwy 60/I-215 Interchange) leasing an 1800sq' unit for $900 that has a 24'x49' garaged bay and store-front office space if someone (or a few folks) might be interested in just having a place to do our own maintenance...an anything else that would require office space.

There is one down in Escondido. I have never been to it. Its not exactly in your back yard but probably not a bad drive either down the 215-15 FWYs. LINK: http://www.diygarageca.com

It is ironic that my indie repair shop is in Moreno Valley - your town :)

Too bad there are not more DIY repair shops with lifts. Sounds like a business idea...

I am aware of the one in Escondido, but it's even further than Baldwin Park.

And yes! It IS a great business idea! Interested in a joint business venture? I looked into it for the very building where it used to be here at March; still has the wash racks, too! The building is still there, but it is being leased by the City of Moreno Valley. And, not even using it for what it was originally intended for...losers.

BTW, who is your indy shop?

Corrals Mercedes and BMW Repair - they are a father and son business. They have experience from Mercedes dealerships. They did a decent checkup and replace all the fluids service. I just could not find anyone out in the Palm Springs area.

I suspected they were the ones you were going to. I went to them initially as well. They did my engine (and a number of things prior to that), which I was happy with. They also did my front suspension...which I am completely not happy with, but refuse to go back to them because they broke the bracket (and didn't tighten the bolts of the bracket) off the transmission that holds the exhaust system in place; but didn't bother to tell me. They also raised their rates on me without giving me any indication. I pretty much bought their lift with the amount of work I had done. I'm just done paying someone to do what I can do myself. Sylvester is a good guy, but John, I suspect, is all about making money, which will be their demise unless Sylvester can reel him in. And Alexis is too wrapped up in HS to figure any of it out just yet...lol. Just my synopsis, but I have spent roughly $4500 with them. And although they say they use genuine MB parts, it's not true. That miffed me some as well.
