^^--- wot Jeff said above (and same supplier as godfather says too)... my sig link will be below... and don't forget to like their Facebook page for a 5% discount code (if they're still doing it - and, sorry, I didn't make a note of it when I ordered mine - wish I had). :tu:

Might also be worth checking out the December special at SLKStore.com too... although don't forget to factor in shipping, VAT and import duties too (I haven't done the maths - but might be worth checking for yourself). :D
Cheers Dave, seems to be coming out better value from PCCGB.com

how easy are they to fit? i see the forum is peppered with threads from frustrated DIY'ers.

I'm pretty comfortable with Electrics, soldering, general car work. if it's a case of straight forward but take your time, i can accomplish that.

when did you fit yours and any must have advice for RHD cars?

is everything you need supplied or is more cabling and components required.

Adam, it's straight forward, but take your time (at least, that's what I did)...

Print and read the instructions you get with the SmartTop, and also the DIY on this forum too (I think the link to that is in the post that's linked in my signature). I read both several times, just to make sure I was comfortable with it. I didn't remove the accelerator pedal to fit mine, but the carpet is difficult to keep out of the way with it in place, and Col says it's MUCH easier if you remove the pedal for the install (apparently just one bolt at the base of the pedal).

The most painful part of the install is opening up the canbus cover... I'm sure there must be a knack to it, but I didn't find it... probably took me half an hour just to get the canbus cover opened (took me 90 mins total to fit it). Also, be very careful of the clips that are there to hold the kick-plate in place... they WILL shred your arms if you don't cover them with something soft!

I took power from the rear of the headlight switch (as per the instructions) and I crimped a new (round/circle - not sure of correct name for it) connector onto the earth cable and added it to the main earth point behind the plastic panel to the right of your right foot (rhd car) - you'll see it when you remove the panel.

Everything you need is included, except the circle/round connector I decided to use for the earth connection (although you do get a scotchlok type connector for that if you're happy to use that - but I preferred to do it this way instead).

Finally, make sure you connect to SmartTop with your laptop via USB before installing, as you can check for latest firmware and set-up you're preferred options more quickly that way. I left the USB cable fitted in the SmartTop, and ran it to poke out from the plastic panel to the right of your right foot... might be useful for future firmware updates, although I will need to use a USB extension cable to get to it as it's quite short.

Good luck, and I hope that about covers it!! :D

Unfortunately, the Tapit fuse connection isn't easy to do with a UK RHD car, as the fuse box panel is on the wrong side for us to do that easily... I tapped into the rear of the headlight switch instead. :D

Hi
I did the same as Dave, about an hour and half. Maybe get some plastic trim removal tools off ebay, around a fiver a set. That Canbus tray is a Bear! I broke two clips on mine but it still clips back in and is under the carpet. Read and print both the instructions from here and from Smart Top website, read and re-read before you start. I think there are only four connections?
I connected the Earth to the place recommended and covered the wire with Duct tape to keep it in place behind the carpet. I think i paid £181 from PPCGB after the Facebook like and discount and it arrived within a few days.
If you can open a Tin of Beans you can do this....

Hi All
Yes it no biggie as a mod , It just where it fits with holding the carpet up & that damn cambus box lid , I did not break any clips on the lid but I did break a cambus plug D'oh , but no problem as I have about 10 spare plugs in the garage if you need one >:D>:D>:D , As already said just read the instructions & then read them again , Its all about the flashing led . What I did was keep the usb lead in place & run it up to the side of the dash ,you know behide the plastic cover at the end for updates & reprogramming off a laptop .

Cheers
