Hi all,

My windscreen-(shield) wipers work but at only about half their correct speed.

I suspect the linkage is either worn, corroded, or both, causing excessive friction. I also notice that the spindle that the blade arm is attached to moves up and done a couple of millimetres as the arm sweeps from side to side which might point to wear lower down but hidden by the surrounding plastic cover.

Can any one tell me (or better yet point me to a photo) how to get at the linkage and wiper motor.

Very many thanks

Best wishes from a still cold UK.

John :)

Hi John,

I had the very same problem earlier in the year. It was the linkage that had seized and once it was stripped and cleaned up the wiper have been working fine. I found this link with some useful information on it you can have a look through.

Hopefully you will find what you need on there.
I would like to say it was an easy job but I paid to have it done.

Good luck

Thanks Andy much appreciated. I'll post a progress report if I have any luck.
