The R172 IIRC has flaps within the exhaust system, mainly for sound effects.

I was at vw show and there was an r32 there, the person that owned the car said his flaps were controlled by a vacuum line that he was able bypass and keep them open.do we have the same option?

I was also told that there are "flaps" on the R172. If anyone knows who we can manually open them, (if that is possible), please let me know!!!!!

In my previous 2011 BMW 135i, there was a vacuum line near the exhaust tip that you could either plug or squeeze and ziptie so that the flap stayed open. The R172 may have something similar.

The R171 however, has no flap.

I have an 2013 Slk 55 AMG.

The exhaust flaps is droven by an electric motor in 3 or 4 steps.

I think its just to unlock two bolts on the electic motor and lift it up from the shaft.
