I searched on the forum and found a good bit of info. on trailer hitches, which led me to buy the Curt 11751 (http://cdn.hitchsource.com/images/curt/11751/images/11751_300x225_a.jpg). The hitch arrives Tuesday, so I'm trying to plan out the install between now and then. I found the online instruction sheet, and that is where my question(s) begin.

I understand that the drilling takes place in the well where the spare tire resides, but how do I attach the nuts on the outside of the car (referring to the vertical section)...do I have to remove the rear bumper cover?

The instructions don't list anything about removing the bumper cover, and I can't find any detailed pictures of folks who have installed this hitch on their SLK to see how the finished product mounts. I guess one could squeeze a wrench between the bumper cover and the car just to hold the nut, but I don't understand why they don't go into more detail on the instruction sheet.

Any help (or photos) would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Coop
