Hello from France !

First of all, sorry for my "bad" english... It's not my mother tongue !

I just bought on the Japanese auction market a fabulous SLK320 in white !
The car came in France by boat, and now I have to fill all the papers to be able to drive on the roads ;-) That's why I don't have any "nice" picture for the moment (the car will stay at the garage a little bit!)

As far I could drive the car, it has always been with the smile... It's a fantastic car !! It has 45500 km only ! So the car is very very clean !

I am here to learn and share about this car... as I am a complete newbie in SLK ! I will probable have a lot of questions but I will for sure use the "search" function before

See you soon on the roads !

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Florida!

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable or to ‘edit’, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM/edit. You can always pm a moderator.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
FREE!! Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

Welcome from Wirral, England.

We have a few members in France.
Unfortunately mainland Europe doesn't have it's own regional threads yet.
One day, maybe.

Look forward to seeing your car once the paperwork if done.

There is a link in my signature below for R170 diy that you may find useful.

Haha ! Thank you everyone! And nice cars ...

I still have a lot of work to do while waiting for the french papers... :

Changing headlight lenses to right hand traffic
wiring my new becker indianapolis pro radio (need to find the "illumination" wire)
changing the catalytic converter (left) which makes rattling noise
finding out why I have P0410 error code (without CEL)
replacing the fuel pump (strange noise...)
changing the automatic transmission oil.

thank you for the DIY link, it will help me for sure! :D

Welcome from South Yorkeshire from another 320 owner, great cars drove to Adge this summer in mine, I would check the exhaust brakets before you buy a cat, mine had a rattle at about 2500-3000 rpm, the centre support bracket had rusted through, used 2 large stainless steel jubilee clamps to stop the rattle untill i can remove the exhaust and reweld the supports.

Regards Stuart

PS the P0410 code is generated by a fault in the secondary air system, this blows air into the exhaust during a cold start to reduce emissions, the secondary air pump is located at the front of the engine just under the plastic cover, runs fir about 30 second on start up and sounds like a vacuum cleaner motor. It serves no othrr purpose than to cheat a cold start emissions test , so if your car is going to have an emissions test make sure it's warmed beforehand.
