So I've just changed the diff oil which was an easy job, and now want to change the 6 speed manual gearbox oil, I have looked and looked and can't find a thread to help with the procedure, does anyone have a guide or pdf to help me read up on the job before I start.

A short thread here, shows location of filler and drain plugs, should help.

I have read that you should crack open the filler plug 1st as if you drain it then find you can not undo the filler then you are in trouble?

Good luck :tu:

Please note that previous oil quantity for 6 speed manual gearbox was revised (before: 10mm below bottom edge of filler hole) so you need to measure oil quantity outside and transfer all to gearbox.

Transmission 716.62/63 (SG - 270/5.3) reduced from 1.5 to 1.2 liters (200K,230K)
Transmission 716.66 (SG -400/5.3) reduced from 1.8 to 1.5 liters (320)

This is for easy shifting to 1st and 2nd gears.
Oil: MB 235.10 / A 001 989 26 03
