I think I need to get new brakes on my '02 SLK32 AMG. The rotors clearly have a lip and they are squeaking when I come to a stop. It appears the PO changed the pads (about 90% left) but not the rotors. From what I've read on here, that's not how it's supposed to be done.
Can I change just the rotors and save the pads?
Also, can anyone give me an idea of the costs I should expect to pay from an independent repair shop?
Thanks.

Check the rotors measurements you might be able to have them cut. Small chance but check first. Need to cross cut to make them quite.

Check the rotors before you do anything. I don't have access to WIS at the moment, but I'd bet if you called a dealer they would give you the minimum thickness.

Lipping on the rotors can be the fact that the wrong pads are being used - most MB's have pads that are right at the rotor diameter.
