Hi
Today with @Wilhelm Sorban help ( thank you !! ) I enabled the Agility mode in transmission.
Now I have
C - comfort mode
S- sport mode
M- manual mode
A-agility mode

The first impression is that Agility mode is between S and M mode, the car is kept in higher reves and the shifting/downshifting is a bit quicker than S mode.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure if you had been working on your car or someone else’s.

i860 helped me activate this on my 2007 SLK 280 yesterday and it was a breeze. I am picky about letting others use software like Vediamo on my daily driver as... well as I said... it's my daily driver so if things go wrong, I gotta rent a car to get to the office etc. It just took a few minutes and now I have manual and agility mode enabled. In case anyone is still thinking about the pros and cons - I put in the steering wheel with the paddles last October and could finally use them for the first time yesterday. It's defintely a nice addition, although one should not expect this to be super sporty. The 7G takes its time to shift, but when it does, it's gentle and nice. Have to find out more about the agility mode. Some say it's inbetween C and S, others say it's S+. We'll see... ;)

STOP THE WORLD! Are we seriously saying that including a 2005 R171 55AMG 7G, there is a secret program lurking in the back of it's brain that activates a possible sport+ mode just waiting to be triggered? Why don't we all have it, how come we didn't know about it before, why didn't MB/AMG load it as standard and could my local friendly indie do it?

In that regard, as I don't have the necessary equipment, is there a guide ie:

Dear Mr Indy, this is how to enable A on my '55:

a)
b)
c)
etc

And can I assume it's a easy 5 minute procedure once those steps are known?

No other way.
You need hardware and software.
SLK 200 and slk 55 r171 sd connect c4
SLK 280/300/350 r171 vas5054 or sd connect c4
For slk r172 vas5054 or sd connect c4

Then you need the software (I can install that remotely).
When you have those I can enable agility mode, manual mode, paddle shifts.

@i860 Maybe I wasn't clear: the indy will (should have?) have that equipment/sw.

Just been for a drive test.
In agility mode the gears are hold in higher revs then sport mode.
Love it.
You don't need steering wheel with paddles shifts/buttons to agility mode to work fyi.
Another must have on your slk.

Definitely more aggressive them S mode while in A mode.
Just repressed the acceleration pedal for a bit ( shame I didn't have das connect to show you the pedal position ) and the gearbox downshifted in a lower gear, in C/S I need to press the acceleration pedal way more.
As you can see the gearbox is holding the gear in high revs. In S the car will have changed the gear. And also you can hear the pop and bang at the end
I bet this mode on slk 55 amg is oauu
