Slk r170 heater stuck on

Hi, my SLK interior heater is stuck on permanatly even in the off position. In position 1 it comes on slow and positions 2, 3, 4 & 5 are normal. It's when I try to switch it off it stays on full even when I take the key out!. Does anyone have any idea if this could be the heater relay or needs a whole new fan heater. Thanks

Sounds like it might be a faulty resistor (the one connected to the blower motor), when I've put non original ones in r170's they've given that same fault...

Common fault over time in all cars. I've had it happen in Peugeots, Vauxhalls, & even my 99 SLK.

Just get a new resistor/thermo. Bolts onto the bottom of the blower motor under the upper LH footwell cover. 1/2 hour job & guaranteed neckache :smile:
