I have a 250d AMG on order for January. Replaces Audi TT diesel. I have diesel because a do a lot miles on the motorway. Can wait, but I have mixed feelings about parting with the TT, as it's a great car. The SLK diesel gets somewhat mixed reviews, but actual owners seem to give it more credit than professional reviewers. Any reassurance gratefully received! Stu

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

She will fill your driving life with poise, torque and a mixture of comfortable secure road-holding stance. She will regale you with an luxurious feel interior which is both comfortable, gorgeous and safely secure. You will drive with a grin from ear to ear when you gaze over the long carved bonnet up to the gorgeous new front. She will make you feel as if you are in a cockpit with all the controls handy and beautifully finished.......this with the economy mode on ;-)........I will leave it to your imagination when you shift to sport mode, or manual ........................

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure there are members who've owned both and can give you much more feedback than I can. I've been a passenger in an R172 diesel and the recently replaced TT diesel (& petrol). To me the Mercedes is a grand tourer, after a few hours you get out of the car relaxed and comfortable, the diesel engine works well with it. The TT is a go-kart, the petrol 2 litre turbo engine suits it, the diesel doesn't and as for getting out of the car after a couple of hours; thank heavens for Starbucks!
