SLK 320, Today, stuck in 5th Gear and Speedo inactive
Strange one today, the car stuck in fifth gear, and the speedo became inactive. Got it home, turned the ignition off then on again. After this it corrected itself.
I had a concurrent ABS/BAS/ESP light on at the time, however, this has been coming on intermittently now for a month and never has the car stuck in gear like this.
Any ideas? :|

Not so sure about the battery. I notice that when I come to a stop and the engine cooling fan kicks in, the dash lights dim for a split second.
get it tested. the slk needs a great battery. not a good or fully charged old battery.

Dimming lights??????very well could be the old battery!
