You made today's watch list. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:😁:unsure:o_O
Makes a change from Me, mind I got a permanent watch :ROFLMAO:

Video and a few other things will be forthcoming soon, I'm currently trying to spend a chunk of money on a new DD Car for Mel and me-self, (apologies for pic quality but I grabbed it off the Video the Trader sent me) ;) .......................

Also still have 3 Cars. long stay patients to get finished, I'm busy with them too ;)

I'm almost done cleaning the second Cam Cover, plus still got Steering Damper and Rear Shocks / Spring Pads and A/C Regas to do on the SLK ............................

I've also built / set up an A/C Regassing trolley as I'll be back to full speed soon in the Workshop ....................

TTFN :)

Ahh well, Car purchase is immaterial now, guy has not got back to me today as promised, the Advert has disappeared and he is not answering the phone, so by the sound of that he's an absolute dodgy xxnt and has just wasted my time for 2 days of calling and messaging :(

I'm back to square 1, think I'll give E Class purchase a rest for now and wait for some form of normality to return to the UK !!

Wasted hours and hours trawling through rubbish Cars, just to get shafted he's likely taken a better offer, or realised that i will find something dodgy, like it's nicked or some-such :(

LOL, I've done my usual, and gone off the deep end straight away ................

That Car Salesman seems to be on the level, looks like the deal may well be on again, so I doubt he wears Arfur Daley's Coat 🤣
We are now just £200 quid away from me driving down there to get it next week ........................

I was recommended to this guy by another English Dealership Owner (Paul) who is a personal friend of mine we used to Socialise, Waterski Ski and Fly plus do business together etc ...............
He put me onto the Blue E Class Salesman guy ..................

I told the Salesman yesterday when we spoke that Paul had recommended me, they must have spoke since, it seems that my buddy Paul told him if Dave, ("Dick Turpin" he calls me), likes it he will buy it, but expect me to haggle hard lol, so he has already taken the advert down, and the number I was ringing is a link number from the Ad, so it no longer works ....................

Anyway, he has sent me another Video plus photos of all the specifics I asked for plus pics of the MB Digital History and last years Indie Receipts, and given me a "Discounted Trade Price" so now all I, "Dick Turpin", have to do is get another £200 off the price he has suggested to me and we're good to go ;)

I hate waiting, but I think he has to keep asking his boss, so I suggested £400 less and am pretty damned sure they'll meet me in the middle, 🤞

TTFN :)

Advice again please ................

Because of the Colour, I am prepared to go above Trade Price, on the Blue Car, but no more than what I've offered, meet in middle ;)

Now a curved ball before I part up with wonga ........................

I found another Car, it's an AMG Sport 350 CDI, 212, in that Light Grey Metallic .................

The only CDI V6's I've had the pleasure of are all basic servicing work, not much else ...................

Any ideas which is the better Engine reliability wise ???

The grey car is a good looker too, it's a £1000 cheaper and half the distance to go get it ...................................

So Blue E250 Avantgarde 5 Seater with 107 k miles MB History up to 2018, then Indie, twice distance away Wheels I don't like ....................

Or Grey E350 AMG Sport 7 Seater with 170 k (long distance motorway) miles and Full Main Dealer History (may or may not be a bad thing) half the distance away, the Wheels in pic are it's Winter Wheels he has the Correct AMG Wheels to be sold with it which I do like ...................

Say wot, before I pull the trigger ???????? ;)

OK, well I was considering those 2 Cars today .............

The Blue Pre Facelift W212 250 CDI

The Grey Pre Facelift W212 350 CDI

So what did I go and do .........................

What didn't I want .................

Yeah a Silver one ................

However, incoming curved ball ......................

I just bought a Facelift 2015 212 250 CDI AMG Sport same miles, Full MB History, except the last Service, have had 3 different very detailed Videos of it, managed to thrash out a real good deal, why .............................

Because the guy has been trading since 1988 and was very up front also he is gonna meet me halfway on the journey, so I only gotta drive about 300 miles to go meet him in Kendal to collect.

Deposit is paid, collecting it Wednesday afternoon :) ...................

Dontcha know it, I always do the exact opposite of what I set out to do 😈

Nah, didn't buy either Grey or Blue ...................

I went Silver in the end, right Car right Money :D

Thing was this, there was something dodgy with that Blue Car, I smelled a rat, Dealer only started trading Oct 2019 ................

Grey car was nice, but higher miles, and it just didn't sound right Idling in his Videos, sounded like the making of Injector Seal Issue, or possibly Cam / Follower issues.

Out of the 2 engines, the V6 or the L4 250 there is not much difference performance wise in real life, and Mel will do the majority of driving in it anyway ;)

It is always the Emissions :poop: parts that let these later engines down, and parts cost mega bucks, DPF's Sensors EGR and CAT's, early ones, Timing Chains, same on both Engines .................

So, by going for the 4 pot, there is only 1 DPF, only 1 CAT, only 1 Pressure Sensor, only 1 Nox Sensor etc etc etc etc so it follows that it will only cost half as much in bits to fix it when, not if, it gives grief ;)

The curved ball .........................

I got put onto this later in the day, by a Car Sales buddy who knew I wanted one, but he didn't have one :(

He knew the Guy in his same area who had just taken the Silver Car in p/ex, they hadn't even Valeted it ;) So I got it for a little over Trade money, plus a bit of Diesel money for him to drive it up to Kendal, which is around halfway, I am meeting him there Wednesday lunch time.

It's a 2015 Facelift W212, E250 CDI AMG Sport Edition :)

I think it's a lot of car for (relatively) little money ;)

A decent non poverty spec 16 plate Ford Focus C Max would cost at least £4k more than what I paid for it ;)
I know what my MB Obsession would rather own 😈

I got the VIN, the Car checks out fine, and the Data Sheet says the only options it doesn't have are Massage Seats and Pan Roof, both of which can cause seriously expensive issues, especially the Roof Drains as they will block and can write off all the Electronics if the car gets Water Ingress ;)

I cannae get the Videos up here, too big files, but here's some decent stills I got ..........................

Pixels ..............

Oh, btw, if I'd gone for the 2017 version it would be a nasty "Nanny Telematics Car" which will upload every bit of Data to MB Cloud, such as your journeys, speeds, driver breaks etc etc etc, which I know for a fact does happen, we owned a 2017 saloon a few years back, which we had for a while purely for doing the constant runs back and forth to Kent whilst Mels bro was dying from cancer ..........................

TTFN, I'll do a video of it next weekend
