I purchased my first slk. An 06 200. It only has speakers in the door and the volume is not enough, at full volume it is not clean. I want to add speakers and a sub in the back. Will the nav20 give input for rears? Do i need to change the player? Whats a reasonably priced good player.

Thanks

okay so based on the datacard its audio 20, and based on the sheet you provided me audio 20 has an option to output rear speakers so i should not need to replace my player. although would be nice if I can replace with one with a USB option (any recommendations?)

Call me crazy apart from the speakers in the door i found nothing, to the outside behind the seats the hole is there, surely no speaker inside it, in the center where the small speakers are supposed to be the plastic has a pattern on it but no holes for sound to come out and there is no sound coming out... could by as part of the gulf states package...

So jeff you are right, it is 9 speakers, somehow the volume out of all put the ones in the door is undetectable, so faint... Seems they can handle more power but my audio 20 is just very low volume. So ill work towards replacing that with a single din and then working on the speakers.

Question: the audio 20 outputs 4 channels, how does that end up over 9 speakers? How is this split, and will this be a concern for me or I will just buy a 4 channel head unit and connect it, the rest is already wired.

Thanks

The Audio 20 has no fader control, but does have 4 channels

Fronts are for the door mids, tweeters and centre speaker

Rear channels drive the door bass units and rear presence speakers (these are not meant to be loud, and only provide a limited frequency response to give a better sound stage)

Have a read through my HK upgrade thread for plenty of info as to what you can do with a car that starts off with the Audio 20 headunit http://www.slkworld.com/general-modifications-r171/31530-hk-speaker-upgrade.html
