Body-colored mirrors are a no-cost option when you special order, new for 2018 (downgrade?). One reason I special ordered. The black mirrors are indeed kind of base model-looking to me.
Be interested in seeing pictures or Yours when it arrives - What delivery date do You have?

So funny story - Having read here on SLKworld about being able to order a SLC43 via "Special Order" with body coloured mirrors, I asked the Plymouth MB Salesman about it?
He spoke to the South West Group purchase Manager who said Yes We can send the car to the AMG Affalterbach Factory & they can change the mirrors - but may be costly €€€€€€€€€€€€€€.......
(Which was similar work being done to a MB SL, when our group visited the AMG Factory last summer!!)
As per this AMG YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/oqVkxCLj8EY?t=376

Mine didn't have all the goodies either but I've corrected that later on. Can that be an option for you to shorten the wish list while looking? There are a few options that would be too hard (expensive, difficult) to fit later on, but most OEM stuff can be added later on.
So what options would You say are possible to retrofit - That You have done?

...and what options would You say are to difficult??

Things too difficult/pricey:
- Move up from normal airco to fully auto airco (whole dash needs replacing, more fixtures and wiring for motors)
- ILS (new windscreen and headlights, too expensive)
- Nappa leather exclusive (dash and door inner panels need replacing, too expensive)
- Adding H&K the proper way (needs extra wires to go to the door innerds, passing the hinge is almost impossible)
- Magic sky (too expensive, not difficult)
- Airscarf (too expensive, needs changing the seats for just two fans with heating elements)

Done myself (some required a specialist):
- Distronic (radars, controller, brake fluid distributor, pricey though)
- Blind spot assistant (radars, controller, LEDs in side mirrors)
- Lane recognition (steering wheel, camera)
- DAB radio
- Rear view camera
- Garage opener / compass in rear view mirror
- KW suspension
- Roll bar cover to ALU
- 2 tone coloring of steering wheel (hey, had to do the wheel anyway!)

Not sure on implications:
- LSD

Late February.

Tell your salesman to look up code 6U6, "Exterior Mirrors in Body Color." Might want to look for a new salesman. One salesman's and manager's inability to do that led to him losing an almost-competed special order, so I walked and went elsewhere, no problemo. Also he would not look at the MBUSA website where you find it thusly:

When we did the SLK AMG comparison in the Jan 2017 edition of Mercedes Enthusiast, I commented that I really didn't like those black mirrors on the blue SL'C'43 which turned up for the feature - they looked base spec. I also hated the silly chrome pin grille - as did all the other participants.

Yeah, not crazy about the grill either, but whatcha gonna do.

On the mirrors, luckily early on I had a salesman sent me document "2017.06.29 MY18 SLC.pdf," preliminary 2018 changes. I also asked him to call back with some other info, never did. Asked for a new salesman, who instead of looking up the info, argued over it and hung up on me the next day, thus losing the sale (short version). This was after I signed the order but reconsidered until this was resolved. Resolved it myself by going somewhere else 130 miles away, but the correct order was ready to sign when I arrived, was $1500 less, and NO deposit to boot! Shrewd, huh? :)

In that document, it says the puddle lights now project the AMG logo! Cool!

Not long till You get Your 43AMG then :tu:
Was looking at You US SLC website & I see You can pick up Your MB cars up from Germany and take it for a spin around the Alps & once run in, a blast down the Autobahn's....!!! R)
....before getting the car shipped over to the US:

Thanks for that option code - Once I've found a buyer for a kidney ect, I'll talk to the Salesman again...
...though You do have to remember they would prefer to sell You a ex-demo or stock car...

Interesting, the UK SLC brochure has multiple pictures of a SLC 43AMG with body coloured mirrors.
(Though does also come with a disclaimer)

Does it need LSD diff upgrade? Birds has Quaife diff for SLK 55 r172, but has not seen SLC 43 yet.
All UK SLC43s get the Performance Pack as standard and that includes the LSD. It’s a Factory option in other countries at about €1000/$1000 (Mercedes has long had strange ideas about currency conversion).

My 2005 SLK 55 is new "to me" I drive some pretty twisty roads to and from work and taking curves marked 30 MPG at 50+ and curves marked 20 at 40+ I have yet to feel any plowing what so ever. I suppose if I were in a road race trying to set land speed records on curvy roads I might want to step it up a bit but I almost always end up behind someone that started out 2 miles ahead of me so what's the point of any better handling. My 2011 Cobra was 550 at the rear wheels with tons of torque but on the roads I like to drive the SLK it wouldn't be able to keep up on the turns and there would be a lot of hard braking going into them, the Cobra was definitely made for straight runs at ridiculous speeds but that kind of driving is only fun for a short time. If someone thinks the 55 plows just drive a Cobra for a couple of months and you'll think along the same lines I do, the 55 handles like a dream as far as I'm concerned and I have no intention of pushing the envelope any further than I do currently so for me the 55 is a perfect fit.
