Morning All,

I was just wondering if any of you that have ordered a SLC AMG have a delivery date yet?

We orders ours on the 28th Jan, when the brochure and price lists were released and have got a delivery date of the 27th July. Not too happy about that to be honest.:frown:

Has anyone else ordered one yet?

Decided to delay mine to 1st Sept. Mrs & I both have to work all though August to cover colleagues with kids, so no chance of a decent drive really.

Thanks for the update Paul

It will be interesting to hear what our Folks think driving around with 2 cylinders missing.:grin: I can not wait to hear honest feed back from the people that ordered the new AMG and compare it with the old one so please share your thoughts when you take delivery.

Here is a little from [email protected]

Historically, AMG models have been the hot rods from Mercedes but with the new SLC43, that is no longer the case. Under the hood is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that makes a rather tepid 362 hp. Mercedes says it is just 0.1 second slower to 60 than the SLK55 it replaces, but it is also down by 53 hp and sure to run out of steam at higher speeds. The SLC43 has unique suspension tuning versus its SLC-class sibling, but from the exterior they look almost identical. How far the mighty have fallen.

Spoke to my dealer today to get an update. They said its still end of July for me. He said that orders for this model was stronger than expected. So MB are unable to pull existing orders forward. Disappointing news for me. But good there's been good take up for this model.

I'd also love to hear from the previous owners of an 172 55 AMG...I was at the dealer yesterday so the AMG Rep could re-set my service schedule reminders as I didn't need to have Service B3 done...anyway he sat in the car, which parked in a covered service bay area and started the engine. He immediately looked at me with a puzzled face. I said 'Anything the matter?'...I don't know came the reply..have you been messing with your your exhaust? calmly I said 'No why, is there a problem? he said 'Well it's bloody loud compared to those V6 Twin turbo's I have been playing with all week, if there is an owner of a V8 AMG wanting to buy one of those V6's they might miss this sound.....as he tapped the gas pedal...we both smiled...>:D

So I'd love to hear from those new owners. I am sure the car will be great in every respect and handle better than the former V8.....but it just might be missing something

In Sport mode the SLC is 74dB, which is the same as the SLK55. Perhaps the technician has been playing with the car in the default ECO/Comfort mode which is 63bB maximum.

In Sport/Race mode the SLC43 is VERY loud. I can't believe the over-run "bangs" aren't over the 74dB limit.

No playing around, I just drove to the dealership parked the car and he came out and started it...so it always defaults to 'C' mode at start up as you know.

It will be an interesting comparison side by side

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, the GLC43 I have on loan at the moment, by default starts in ECO/Comfort mode and, as you say, the SLK 55 defaults to not having the exhaust flaps open, which is waaaaay louder than the GLC43 at startup. But if I put the GLC43 into Sport/Race it gets F-off loud, easily as loud as the 55 in any mode. And it bangs and pops whenever you lift off.

I am extrapolating the GLC43 to the SLC43 however as it's the same engine and gearbox so I don't see that the mode selection will work any differently. Certainly, the videos on YouTube would suggest they are identical apart from the GLC has full air suspension and the SLC has the magnetic adjustable suspension modes.

Dealer phoned the other day to confirm late July delivery , then phoned back a couple of days later to change it to mid August !
I was gonna take it on holiday to Nurburgring , Dordogne , San Sebastián and Biarritz but I'll already be away so my wife gets it delivered beginning of September as I'm staying in France for a few extra weeks .
I'm beginning to suspect it's a ploy by her to stop me using it on the track !

Got the call two Friday's ago. My Obs Black SLC 43 AMG build was complete & the vehicle confirmed it was on a cargo ship heading to Baltimore, MD port; making its way to its new home here in Massachusetts. Estimated Delivery date of Aug 12, 2016. This 3-4 weeks ahead of original date as a sooner build slot opened up & my order was pushed up. ThkQ Mercedes Benz!

Arrived - 2017 SLC 43 AMG

Got to see my 2017 SLC 43 AMG. As mentioned in the AMG section the styling is much more stunning in person than the pix do justice. I will definitely post a very honest review between my 2013 SLK 55 AMG & my new 2017 SLC 43 AMG.

Oh...US order date 05/27/16, Arrived 08/13/16.

Drive Fast! (I know I will be for at least another week! ? )

Sytner MB in Northampton have an SLC 43 AMG in their showroom and it does look good in the flesh...

Will be interested in the comparison seeing as I am picking up the SLK 55 AMG shortly - did I make the right choice? ?
