2009 SLK55 AMG (5.5L V8), 116k miles (116k smiles!), trouble-free! Actually, quite amazed at how hassle-free this car has been. Sure, something goes every now at then, but, I spend less on maintenance than anyone I know with a 10yo+ daily driver (hope I didn't just jinx myself!).

Hi,

Last year, the end of May, I bought my beauty, in Germany, not so far across the border.

This beauty, a facelift SLK280 3.0 V6, I have named him "Benzie"...
I DIY'ed some things.
Updating its firmware and navy software in his NTG 2.5.
Because of the exploding fuel prices, I had an LPG installation built in.
I provided Benzie with some chrome accessories
And a new 18 inch wheelset, 8" front, 9" back with 225/40 and 245/35 tires.

I bought more equipment for the better DIY work...

I love the car and it drives fantastic.

REALLY nice colour combination - what a gorgeous car!

Where did you put the LPG tank - it would be great to see a photo!
Hi,
It's a 50 liter tank, with the 80% safety fill up valve it should be possible to fill 40 liter.
But i can do 43 liter... 😧🤫 I don't know why that is... when it's getting hot, coming summer I will stop with 40 liter.
The tank fits in the spare wheel space for half.

There is a bit space left to go on a holiday weekend... Space for your swimming gear and credit card... 😂😁🤣😜
Coming weekend I have a party with my former motorbike club.
My litttle 2p shelter tent and sleeping gear will fit. 🍻 Maybe with roof closed... We'll find out in a few days.

You could always use the traditional British sports car solution for lack of boot space and fit a (removable) boot rack.

Mind you, even without sacrificing the underfloor boot space in the SLK32 AMG, there's a surprising amount of space with the roof up:

All fitted easily, with enough space left for a jacket etc.:

I don't normally travel with that amount of luggage - I was merely checking how much space there actually was!

Totally agree about plenty of boot space.
I can get some socks, a couple of shirts and a spare pair of trousers. This does upset the wife though.
She has to leave at least 3 pairs of shoes behind!
She has her values when it comes to touring. ! case each.

Ha, ha, ha,
me and my missus use pretty much the same size luggage.
Mine mostly filled by photogear... her's... yeah, you know...
My luggage to go to the party with my motorbike friends this last weekend...:

Tent, air matras and sleeping bag (I didn't need more for that one night).
Fits easily in my Benzie, with safetycap closed. So with roof down.
It nearly froze a bit that night, but my sleeping bag is a good one.
The luggage space is big enough to enjoy a bit on holidays, especially if you take a hotel or b&b...
