Hello everybody,

Few time ago i started hearing a rattling sound in the manual shifter. This sound was RPM dependant (starting 2.500 - 3.000)

After changing the gearbox oil and taking a look at the gear mechanism in an indy we found a worn out rubber like shown in the picture (picture from google :D)

I wonder if anybody came across with this problem or know any fix rather than buying the whole part (A1712670124)

I getting crazy with this not very loud but anooying sound.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Sorry for my english o_O

We have tried all sorts in the past and don't bother now, easier to just fit a new one.

thank you so much for your help! so grateful to find such a dedicated community.

the bad thing is that i cannot ensure the sound is coming from exactly that part as i feel the sound along the rear bearing bracket.

The replacement of parts 60 & 70 in the following picture may help to fix rattling?

Thanks!

Apologies, our area had a power outage for most of yesterday, and then we had Ambulances here again until early hours for MIL who started playing up again.

Very common issue, we have tried all sorts over the years including having bushes made up and none of it lasted more than a few hundred miles before it started rattling.

Buying either a low mileage good used, or brand new from MB is the only proper fix.

Thank you Dave! You really helped me.

I already did the search a found a brand new one sold by a particular for 300€, indy asked me for 200€ to mount it.

So i think is the best option because at MB cost will be around 1000€.

Bad times to spend that amount but i will keep u update as soon as i get it fixed.

Thanks!!
