Service C - just the basics ?

My SLK 300 is asking for a Service C. As its out of warranty I plan to just do the basics so thats:

Oil Filter
Air Filter
Oil

The car has just under 80k miles on it now so I was wondering does it need new spark plugs too ? To date it has always have MB dealer servicing so its had the Gearbox fluid change already so this should just be a basic service.

Is there a specific oil or will any fully synthetic 0w40 do ?

I've googled for a service c tick list/schedule but cant find one (possibly my poor google skills!) but as I understand it apart from the oil and filters the rest is inspections.

IIRC spark plugs every 4 years, pollen (combination filter) and brake fluid every 2 years.

Re oil you need Mb229.3 or 229.5 approval. if it doesn't use oil 0W40 is fine.

go to your maintenance manual

Download Your Car Maintenance Manual | Mercedes-Benz

in there, by time and mileage is what you need to do. so anything listed besides oil and filter

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with search... you can use Google to search the site for you by entering a search term such as the following at google.com:
  • site:slkworld.com service c

Click here to see an example: Let me google that for you
