In a departure from our usual third Saturday events, we are getting together on a Sunday this month for a special event!

R) Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster owners are invited to meet rain or shine Sunday, September 22, 2013 for display of their cars at 10:30 A.M. in the parking lot east of Mexico Lindo in front of Fremont Bank at 6690 Koll Center Pkwy in Pleasanton, CA 94566:

While this lot is a great assembly spot for us, the Starbucks has moved across the south side of Bernal by the new Safeway, so you may want to visit it on the way.

At 11:30, we will leave for a back road drive through the east bay hills, ending in Danville, where we can enjoy the 8th Annual Danville Concours d‘Elegance:

More details and the route will be shared later...mark your calendar...

* While we don't need an RSVP for this event since no lunch or reserved events are included, it is helpful to the planners/leaders if you do let us know you are coming.

Although I will just be returning from yet, ANOTHER business trip to the great city of Chicago, this sounds like an event that I would love to attend, plus Sundays are really much better for me as I have to work on Saturday's.

1.) Stinger - Steve and Ginger

BTW, is anyone else interested in displaying their SLK at the Concourse? Looks to be a great fund raising event where proceeds go to the research of Parkinson's Disease at $125.00 per car. If I decide to do this, I would meet up with you at Starbucks but skip the drive and see you again at the event in Old Town Danville.

That sounds like it would be a fun time, unfortunately we are unable to make it. We will try again to make it soon. Your road trips are always awesome!

I drove my car in the rain today running errands - had the top down right before it rained too.

just curious - has anyone had the windows down when it started raining and then it started leaking at the corner curve on the driver's side?

anyways - car is REALLY dirty! It will need tons of photoshopping if you intend to takes photos that include my car in them. Fair warning! Bring extra thick camera lenses as the OEM ones will probably crack from the soiled SLK in the photo.

we have found that if it's really raining hard and we're at speed we'll get a little bit of seepage, exactly where you describe... a few drops at a time. I figure it's just a combination of air pressure and amount of water.

It happened to me when I drove thru a jet sprayer carwash only. Not when it was raining. Maybe ask the dealer to look into it if it is still under warranty.

Again, sorry I missed all of you. I was terribly under the weather. I must have caught some sort of flu bug on the way back from Chicago on the plane, or all the changes in weather between Chicago and here, I don't know but was sick as a dog. The entry fee went to a good cause, Parkinson's Disease, but still would have much rather been with all of you instead of between bed and the toilet .

As usual Steve, great photo show, all the SLK's looked really great together.

Sorry to hear of your illness, Steven.

Glad you appear on the mend; we all went up and down the street looking for that beautiful Stinger SLK, but figured something came up. I couldn't get any good driving pictures because the road up was so wonderfully windy that is turning windy not blowing windy...LOL...

Get to feeling better and we hope to see you again soon.

Really great to meet everyone yesterday! It was my first meet and I felt so welcomed. It's fantastic to meet a group of people who love their SLKs like I do.

I took a wrong turn on the way to the Concours d'Elegance (when everyone split in two different directions I got confused) but I found my way shortly thereafter. So it ended well anyway!

I look forward to the next meet!
