Hope this has not been beatened to death. How do i know if my care is included? VIN# WDBWK54X6F096756.

If I am included, does anyone know the procedure in this?

I am out driving so I will
Try this quickly
You have your datacard already?
Look at the last 6 numbers of your engine number
Go to the r171 general discussion section
And find the sticky thread on the balance shaft
Btw that is where you should have posted this question
Look at the engine range in the first post of that thread
It says for engine m272 up to
If your 6 numbers are higher
You are ok
If lower u are not but might be
Read the thread for more info

Joe,

Since your model year is 06 you are most likely in the range. Read the tread that Jeff pointed out and you should have most all of your questions answered.

your engine number from your datacard
Engine no.: 111983 40 082334

range of affected engines:

Equipped with M272 Engine Up to
Serial No. 2729..30 468993

http://www.slkworld.com/slk-r171-ge...alance-shaft-sprocket-m272-m273-stickied.html

so yes, you are in the affected range.

read the thread above for what to do or even based on the age of your car if you can do anything

do the test in the video included to see if you are affected
