I have a 2016 SLC43 AMG which I'm seeking insurance quotes for. One company asked me if it had a Thatcham-approved alarm system. Looking at my data card I have an "Auto-Theft Protection Package" with the code P54. Questions, is this as good as Thatcham-approved, and does it contain a steering lock feature?

Turns out mine has the Enhanced Auto-Theft Protection package, code 885. On the Mercedes website, it is very vague about what this is. Meanwhile over on Mercedes-Benz.com, they suggest it's "It's the Thatcham spec immobilizer". Any thoughts?

Need to be careful as Thatcham status changes as the years go by as security and standards move on! I thought there is a thatcham criteria list somewhere, will see if I can find.
