@Ladymerc, Thanks for updating your profile with your location and car model. If you have the NTG1 head unit (which you will have if it's the original sat nav that was installed in the car when it was built - that's what I have in my 2005 SLK), then I'm afraid you're very limited with what you can do, and that also means you can't (as far as I know) install speed camera POIs on it at all. Also, the main thing I miss with my factory sat nav, is not being able to enter full postcode for a destination address... I updated to 2015 maps last year, hoping it might address that, but should have done more research first... as that's not possible with the NTG1 either.
I use Waze on my smartphone when I want to know where speed cameras are, and with alerts too... I have a windscreen suction mount for the phone, so it's nice and easy to see the alerts too. :tu:
If you want to know more about what your car shipped with from the factory, why not request your free datacard? - from my original welcome message...
Thank you so much for your reply, sad but I thought that would be the answer,as I've sat on the drive for hours going through the Sat Nav menus!!! To no avail! Anyway, have downloaded Maze and on first looks, seemso to do the job, so thank you ! And yes it is a bummer not being able to put in the full Postcode, been used to a fully functional up to date Sat Nav on my last car! This is my very first Merc, and other than the Satnav problems, am thrilled with it. Will post a photo as soon as the weather gets better!
