Due to the arrival of our second child, I've had to change our cars.

The c350 was traded to make way for a c6 rs6 avant. Absolutely beast of a car and lovely to drive. We needed something with more boot space, and the mrs insisted on getting something rapid. It was a toss up between a c63 estate, but the rs6 won in the end due to the much larger boot volume. I have to say that the 5 litre v10 twin turbo is an amazing engine. For such a big and heavy car, the car absolutely shifts.

The SLK55 has been sold to make way for a 135i convertible. I actually pick up the car next week. Being such a small rear wheel drive car, I'm looking forward to zipping around in it. For those that don't know, these have a 3 litre twin turbo engine in it.

All I can say is that I will sorely miss the sound of the slk55. It was a great car that gave me no problems. For what I sold it for, I can't think of a better car.

I'll still pop my head in here, as I don't think I can stay away from amg ownership for too long.

Sooner than I may think. The 55 was the longest car I've ever owned, at around 2 years. Most cars just last me around 6 months before I get itchy feet.

I was thinking of changing to a 135i Coupe. Lower running costs than the 55 and if needs be, a cheap simple remap and you have a monster.

Which one is yours? N54 or N55?

I'm getting the n54. It's had an upgraded front mount intercooler and bmw performance exhaust. It's also got a Cobb device, where you basically plug this handheld device into the obd port. The device has all sorts of different maps depending on mods done and how aggressive you want it. Should be pushing around 360bhp with the mods already done to the car. Will be putting it on the dyno first opportunity I get. If you want, I'll let you know how I get on.
