Members this is a joint meeting with another Mercedes-Benz car club. Any Mercedes-Benz all makes and models are allowed on the drive. Mark your calendars.

First Sunday drive for the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sacramento and Sacramento Valley SLK Enthusiasts meet on March 3rd 2013. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. leave at 10:00a.m. We will stop by Cache Creek Casino for 30-45 mins. and get a free $25.00 Gas card (for non-Cache Creek Casino Card Holders by signing up for their Card club at the front desk. I signed up several years ago and have not received any junk e-mail ever).

We should be able to park in front of the Casino and take pictures as a Car Group or individually or a group of persons. They have Valet parking and a covered parking garage also.

Afterwards we will head up CA- 16 to East Highway 20 and turn right. Then we will head over to Granzella’s Restaurant in Williams for Lunch.

I called Granzella’s today and made Reservations for up to 30 people and they said separate checks are ok and an 18% Gratuity will be added onto the checks. We will be seated in groups of 4-6 people rather than 1 long table.

This should be a great memorable drive! All Mercedes-Benz are invited to attend, I would prefer just SLK'S but oh well! I love this drive and enjoyed it everytime I drove it in the spring. The Capay Valley is so beautiful this time of year the mountains and flowering purple shrubs that blooms this time of year! The Almond Festival as well as the Mustard Festival which also takes place in the spring. Please everyone just join us for the drive and RSVP AT 916/489-6936 or [email protected] or just show up you will be inspired!

Hey Don, this sounds like a beautiful drive and I am really tempted to do my best to join you. My only concern is that my car will be out of the body shop this week with fresh paint and I know it takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to fully cure and harden. If there is a lot of loose gravel on the road from winter snow storms then I would be in for rock chips galore. How is the condition of the roads that you will be traveling?

I'm thinking of going... discussed it with my honey... if we show up, we'll be in the back. Steve doesn't want to crash the party but we always drive together... in our own cars (my SLK, my Vette... I let him drive the American one). If it's ok, we can bring up the back end of the line so the Vette doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm of course making a huge assumption - so please let me know if it's a problem if there's an American among us. No hard feelings if you wanna be all German.

@ Stinger the Capay Valley elevation is only around 200 feet. I have not known it to snow there. The road is very nicely paved since it leads to the Cache Creek Casino. I called the casino and talked with the valet and he told me no road work is being done either on hwy 16 or hwy 20. I have never seen any gravel on the roadway unless you are following a cement truck. Several years back when we went with the Nor Cal SLK Enthusiasts we did have some road work which had gravel. I will check with cal trans and repost their response. Don Owen 916/489-6936

please do check! The last time we went on an exotic car run, we had to ditch because the beginning part of the road was so badly maintained, with all the uneven pavement, it actually caused a low tire pressure warning on the Vette. Ultimately, I ended up taking an alternate way to bypass that stretch.

I called Cal-Trans in Marysville at 530/741-5452 and I spoke with Dave and he said no road work is scheduled for this weekend. He did say they are tree trimming today. I will check back on Friday.

@ SLICK BENZ GIRL I don't object or mind the Corvette bringing up the rear on the drive. Since I am the leader for the drive. I am not sure about what the MB Club of Sacramento opinion is. But please do join us on Sunday!

I'll mark it on the calendar and run it by Steve ... hopefully we will be there! Not sure if I will still have race fuel in my SLK though... filled it yesterday. Since we'll be in the back I don't think it will matter ;)

You don't need a Walkie talkie for this trip. I have bought 2 sets, I am not too happy about them. I am still investigating which one I want.

I called Cal-Trans a few minutes ago no road is scheduled for maintenance this weekend! It should be an awesome drive with lots of blooms everywhere! Almond trees, wild flowers, smoke trees, fruit trees and more.

Hey Don, well, I was hoping that my car would have been out of the shop yesterday. As it turns out, Monday is the day that I will get it. So I won't be able to make this one but I will keep an eye on your future events. Have a great drive and take plenty of pictures.

Steve
