Hmm, worth replacing the ntg1 with it? How is fit and finish? From the pictures it looks very oem.
Depends on what functionality you are looking for. There are solutions that integrate seamlessly with the ntg1, providing basic bluetooth and iPod functionality for roughly the same price. So I will leave the decision up to you as to whether or not installing a new HU is worth the extra features.

Regarding the fit/finish it is very impressive. Looks and feels 100% OEM, I could not be happier with it! :D

My biggest pet peeve is the aftermarket look. But i gotta admit it looks really good. Any plans on putting a rearview camera?
The UI is pretty solid for a Chinese head unit. The camera is definitely a possibility and would be easy to install, but I am not rushing to do it. The car is small enough so that parking is usually a breeze.

Sorry about the late response!

I have the rear view camera installed , but I find my rear mirror / parking sensors much more accurate and less distracting from what's around me !

I bought mine few days ago and last friday it has arrived. I noticed that in the box are two similar cables used to connect the H.U. with OEM car wiring with a different pinout. I wonder if one is for connecting a car equipped with A20 and the other for a car equipped with NTGxx. Also have noticed that there is such an antenna adaptor with a power line and two FAKRA's as input, but only one comes from antenna. Any thoughts?

If you check the original Quadlock adapter from the radio , you'll see a similar small connector to the pinouts on one of the new connectors you have and it should become clear which one you need to use .

If you look closely at the atenna adapter and the the two Fakra cables you should see on the casing one puts AM and the other FM , you have to choose which you want to receive and connect it to your cars antenna cable .

There is one that says AM and one that says FM/AM. Plug in the one from the head unit into the FM one, you SHOULD get both.

Putting the phone in the arm rest and using the roof control for the home button to bring up Siri , but as I've just updated to 7.1.1 , I'll have to wait until I can jailbreak it for the display out feature !
I'd probably settle just for the home button , Siri use at the moment to give me voice dialling .....

Hello. I am very interested in this HU but am wondering if the display between the speedometer and the tach still functions properly. Do the names of satellite radio stations still show up, etc? Did you buy the unit on eBay?

I don't think that model has sat radio if you are referring to the op #1

Quick question about manufacturer - which company was this particular variant made by? There are so many out there, and I suspect they are not created equal... Even though one might be led to think they are. Witson seemed the closest to your front panel buttons, Timlesslong seems to make a good unit too, but I tend to favour the Witson, it comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warrantee according to alibaba.com. I ordered a cheaper unit through Aliexpress, but the order was cancelled by Ali and I got my money back, seeing that the particular trader I was dealing with seemed to have done some underhanded business. Nice thing about buyers protection and Aliexpress seems to be good for that. For round 2 I'd like to make sure I get the best unit available, not the cheapest... ;)

Well, these units do NOT have Sat radio built in. You can run it through the Aux-in, but as you would assume with aux-in no meta data gets transmitted.

Regarding the general functionality of the MFD - yes it does still work. Most of the time it is hit or miss whether or not it will display information or "VOL VOL" (an error I would assume, but steering wheel controls still work). Controlling music (next track, previous, volume) and other functions like Navi (Displays upcoming directions) have their own screen depending on which part is active on the HU display.

Yes, I bought the head unit on ebay. Check near the end of page 1 or beginning of page 2 of this thread for an example link for one of these head units.

Not sure who the OEM is, my unit arrived from China less than two weeks after I placed the order. I have driven ~3,000 miles with it installed and it has not missed a beat.

I think he asked about the functionality under the "Audio" menu of the MFD... I'm driven to think that it will show only some dashes. Of course the other menues not audio related should work properly.
