Generally, when my SLK roof stops lowering, it gets going with a bump from underneath. When it gets stubborn, some lubrication helps. I can't tell if something is binding or if there's a sensor issue.:crying:

I live 2 hours from the nearest Mercedes dealer and am new to this area. I go to the dealer in Charlotte, NC when the driver's seat stopped adjusting. Nearly $2,000 later for this and that, they said it was ready. I didn't get out of the service area before it stopped working.:frown: Turned out the connector under the seat had gotten disconnected! That required me to make another 4 hour round trip to get the car.:surprise:

Any suggestions on how to identify a qualified mechanic for my car?
Thanks!

I was driving from Fayettevile to Gastonia and passed a mechanics shop in Mathews, NCthat had nothing but MB's in the shop and parking. Been a few months back. Sent the detailed information to jnc1948. If close enough to you, give him a PM for the information.
