This is a rehash of this recent thread for the R172 SLK but for the SLC.
But I don't want to introduce confusion into that thread, especially if the parts are different.

Basically I would like to do a similar thing to the SLC when I get it.

The part no for the black grille trim on the SLK55 is 17288508239040.

So, even though the mesh part is different, will the part from the SLK55 fit on an SLC?
Or if not,
Is anyone able to provide the equivalent part number for the black grille trim that's used on the AMG43?

Jeff, you must stalk these forums like a Terminator T1000! >:D

If the item no on the drawing (R172 SLK) corresponds with the parts list (R172 SLC43) I think it could to be:
Item 270: A 172 885 08 23 COVER BUMPER AREA 001 FRONT Code: 802/803/804/805/806 [903] Color footnote?

I don't understand the code part or the colour footnote reference, any ideas what they mean?

Thank you sir!

Sorry Jeff, my laptop screen's pretty poor so I'm struggling to see anything very clearly even when I enlarge it.

The part number is the same as the SLK55 up to the 23 , I'm struggling to understand what I think are the colour codes on the end (e.g. 9040 for the 55) could be 9031 on the 43, but they're both gloss black so why would the code be different? I think they are essentially the same part.

Okay, as I was on the right page in EPC, I reprinted the parts diagram and parts list too (attached), as well as the footnote messages for color and code... let me know if these are clearer... :)

Color footnote:

Excellent, thanks ever so much to you and Jeff. :tu:
It is the same part for the SLK55 & SLC43 which is good news because it means the attachment method is also the same between SLK & SLC. So @WhiteRabbit 's info earlier thread also applies.

I was getting tied up in knots seeing parts drawings of the SLK and headings saying SLK Roadster, but the model designation being AMG SLC 43.

I've got to say, I still don't really understand the code numbers. None of those dates could possibly apply to the SLC, could they? :|

Sorry, I don't understand the code numbers either - I'm just sharing what's in EPC.
