Attached is the DIY for replacing the valve cover gasket and breather hoses for a 01' SLK 320. It also shows steps to remove the non-flexible fuel distribution line that some of the older models have. If you have the flexible fuel distribution line, you can simply move it out of the way to remove the valve cover on the left hand side.

thanks for this data. It's pretty much exactly what I'm experiencing. However, there are 2 covers on top of the valve covers that are leaking on my vehicle. It looks like those were sealed with RTV. Are there supposed to be gaskets for those, or is high temp oil resistant RTV the right product to use.

I've also noted some people use liquid gasket along with the valve cover gaskets. Any comment on using both to prevent future valve cover gasket oil leaks?

Thanks,

Michael
