Hello SLKWorld chaps (and chapettes)

Sadly a deer decided to go for a walk in front of my SLC43, fortunately appears to be only front nose/bumper and headlamp damaged, any recommendations on where to obtain parts as several google searches can only find a non-amg styling nose cone, and no headlamp units.

Secondly, anyone had repairs done for the headlamp unit - it has the fancy road tracking and anti-dazzle tracker built in so imagine not a quick swap over job but would require specialist configuration?

Thanks!

Yes, £5,300 they're asking for it surely there's a more cost effective option I'm thinking 🙂

Which county/road was the collision? It makes me a bit nervous that there are now more deer wandering around the UK than for more than 1000 years.

As i860 says, check with your insurers - deer strike might just be classed as a non-fault accident, a bit like Churchill's vandalism cover...

Road was A355, north Beaconsfield side

£5300 includes parts (bumper, lamp plus mountings) and labour

Spoke to insurers; they say I will lose no claims bonus, but that would be worth it given the cost

Thanks for your thoughts all!

So total cost of parts then ??
Forget that now you called them . :surprise::surprise:

Well you have notified the insurers of incident so regardless its gone against you so its flagged up as a claim ! !

So you have no choice now but to claim from them .

Sorry to hear about Your deer incident...

When I use to cycle more in the Hampshire lanes on a summers evening, there was always lots of them around....

More worrying is should you have the roof stowed & a deer suddenly joins you in the cabin - easily a killer & not just the deer.
At the risk of overkill(sorry) where there is known deer activity on some sections of my regular routes I actually make sure the roof is up. This particularly applies where there is a section of high banking on the nearside & deer come running down the slope & leap almost across the entire width of road.
For years I never gave such a scenario a second thought until one morning about 6am driving an open top 60's sports car a deer did come down the slope & right across my bow missing my car by inches.
