Hi all,
New to the forum here, and so far, it's been a great source of information. My wife has a 2015 SLK 250 that I recently christened "the red poopbox" due to all the issues it's giving me. First, the glovebox fascia peeled off. I gave up on gluing it twice and now just got a new one from MB. Then the clearcoat started flaking off. Apparently, a bad respray before she bought it (used.)
Last week the dash lit up like a Christmas tree - the ABS, traction control, and parking brake lights came on with the corresponding inoperative messages, and the back brakes intermittently locked up, forcing me to turn the car off several times en route home to get it there. I got a check engine light and P0002, C0031, and C0034 faults with an OBDII scanner. I replaced both front wheel speed sensors today, and the lights remained on. After some additional research, I replaced the brake pedal switch, and all the lights finally went off. I took the car for a test drive, and the traction control inoperative warning came on about 30 seconds after moving. It resets every time I turn the car off, then comes on again as I start driving. The car is now driving fine, and I'm not having any further issues with the brakes locking up. The OBDII scan shows no codes and no check engine light. The P0002 code never came back after resetting, even after an hour of driving. Trying to avoid a dealership if at all possible. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Aaron
