Hello everyone,

I am unsure if this topic has been covered before, if it has my apologies, but i need some advice on replacing the rear discs and pads on my slk 250. My MB dealer quoted the job at £350 which I found quite expensive considering the parts can be purchased for around £80 online. i have seen the thread regarding rear pad replacement concerning the rear parking brake and this seems like a pretty straight forward job. However I have seen very little on the disc removal on the R172. My question is essentially how difficult is this job to complete and do I need any special tools in order to remove the discs? Would be great if I could get some advice on this one as I really begrudge paying £350 to MB to do something I'm hoping can be completed from my garage at home!

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Is £350 inclusive of bilateral rear brake pads and discs and labour?
