I am trying to figure out where I can get an OEM sport air intake. I have an 05' SLK350 and I have the sport package with the stiffer suspension, paddle shifters, etc but I do not have the baffle on the back of my intake. Not sure why. I am looking for that throatier sound so if anyone knows where to buy the sport intake please let me know.

I contacted my local dealership but have not heard back from them yet.

genuinemercedesparts.com says "part number 2730900601 appears to be the sport intake. It is no longer available and has been replaced by part number 2730901201. We cannot promise that this part will fit your car, it does however fit the 171 chassis for the sport option from the factory. We fill that it will work, just no way to be 100% since your car did not come with this part from Mercedes. This is the latest part number for the Sport model."

mbpartsworld.com says "Unfortunately we do not advise in vehicle modification. So anything your order that is not specific to your VIN, you are liable for the cost if it does not fit or work or causes damage to your vehicle."

Upon verifying 2730901201 on mbpartsworld.com it does show the part as being the sport intake for an SLK350. When I verify 2730901201 against genuinemercedesparts.com it shows the part fits the E550 V8 and does not mention SLK350.

Whether 2730901201 fits or not I will also note that mbpartsworld.com wants $100 more than genuinemercedesparts.com for the same part number.

I am still on the hunt for a definitive answer on this issue.

A verified part# for the sport intake, thank you!

Sounds like genuinemercedesparts.com could help sells by listing the other models the intake fits. What threw me off is that they say it fits a V8 which I assumed would be a different intake. Right now the cheapest I can find 2730901201 is for about $260.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but, what the heck is a "sport intake?" Is it a manifold? What does it fit?
According to the EPS it is the air filter housing. It shows a total of four possible units. The first six digits of the part number are 273 090 with the last four as follows:

02 01 (up to chassis 153612)
09 01 (from chassis 153613)

06 01 (up to chassis 153677 w/ Sport Pkg)
12 01 (from chassis 153678 w/ Sport Pkg)

From this, it looks like if you have the Sport package (option code 951 or 952, which is different than the AMG styling package) then the car should have one of the last two part numbers depending on your chassis number. Otherwise, the non-sport engine gets one of the top two part numbers depending in the chassis. Air filter housings are shared across V6 and V8 engines.
