Hi

Recently my R171 which hasn't even done more than 38K km has been blinking the engine issue symbol.

Took it to the Merc authorised dealer and the advice was that I need to replace inlet manifold & 4 camshaft solenoids.

I have done some research and it appears the issue is somewhat common in this model?

The total cost was about $4,400!

Anyone knows where I can get them replaced cheaply & reliably?

Cheers

This guy is amazing and highly recommended. Ex Mercedes mechanic and the first I've ever used for any car that is absolutely genuine, no ******** and tries to save you money at every opportunity. Check his Google reviews (as I did) and they are all 5 star.

I can't recommend him highly enough, he has saved me at least $5000 in the last 3 months.

I haven't used them myself yet, only had the Merc for a year ,but these guys were recommended to me by my exhaust specialist Tuffy Mufflers in Zetland .

I do most work on my own cars and have Mercedes STAR diagnostic, if you need to confirm your error codes let me know.
Thanks I'll give them a call. What do you mean by error codes though? Sorry have nil knowledge in car repairs etc.

Your blinking engine light , it will have an error code which will point in the direction of the problem.
Hey buddy thanks a lot for the recommendation. Assuming there will be no issue in the near future, Allen's done a great job at a cost much lower than Sanderson. Very happy with it.

BTW, know where I can have my car audio (the one with only a CDP) replaced by something with BT capacity cheap in Sydney?
