I`ve obtained an upgrade kit for my 1999 slk230.
It has come with white indicator lamps and I wonder if they are allowed by law.

There is a video on Utube how to fit so hopefully that will help.
First of all I have to spray them to blue, then the fitting.

If anyone has fitted a set of these ....are there any pitfalls?

The main thing is ..... "Are they legal with white lamps/lenses?"

Kind regards to one and all.

White lenses, yes, white lamps, no...

Either fit amber leds or bulbs to them ....

Cheers

Desperate help now required please?

The new assembly is with the body shop to paint.
However my dilemma is where to route the indicator cable to and from.
I could do with some advice on passing through the bulkhead and could manage from there to the new mirror indicator.
I just hope someone has the knowledge to help me through this source of sleepless nights.
Regards to all.

Job done

All finished.
I found a route from the side indicators through to the door hinges with a wire trace. There I prized the rubber grommit away pushed another wire trace through to the door compartment where I exited through a vacant hole and connected to the new indicator wiring.
I read somewhere on the many forums I looked at that the polarity doesn`t matter................it does............. but there was no damage done and I didn`t disconnect the battery as I don`t know the code.
I will post pictures soon.
Thanks to all that helped.
Kind regards,
Martyn

Just a quick pic

This was not easy to start with but once the wire feed was sorted the rest was not difficult.

The difficulty was the poor glue used to attach the fittings to the door panels.

I had to clean the services and re-glue them with Araldite rapide which seems to have done the trick.

If anyone is thinking of doing the same I will be glad to help anytime so that they don`t get the same frustration I had.
Regards and thanks to all.
