Possible boost gauge port?

Hay to you all, I'm trying to install an boost gauge on an 01 slk230 and looked at a few of the posts and they most involved installing a port just after the MAF sensor. another shows to splice a "T" into the front of the TB vaccum port. I was looking around and found a pair of ports with rubber caps on the left side of the intake manifold under cyl. 1 runner. there's a simular pair just under the #4 intake runner. Is it possible to attach the hose to one of these ports on the left side instead of drilling and splicing? I had a pic. of the manifold and it was #4 . Unfortuneally I cant find the pic now.
