So we agree it is not manual (like manual gearbox) it is a limiter up to selected gear and that will be ignored when one's foot reaches the carpet?
Yes, if you're in say Manual 3rd, flooring the pedal will scoot you up to the tacho redline @ 6k revs (
rather than bringing in the kickdown which it will do if you're in "D") and will then change up whether you want it to or not. I tried to hit the ton in mine and it wouldn't have it in 3rd because it insists on upchanging to 4th thus depriving me of 5secs or so whilst it sorts itself out

I suppose you could call it a semi-manual gearbox? Inasmuch that you can do whatever you want with the tip-tronic and if the car agrees with you, that's fine, if it disagrees with you it's self-protecting🙃
The Manual 'boxed 200 of mine on the other hand is self-protected by a fuel interrupt @ 6200rpm
and is really easy to hit during spirited overtaking manoeuvres ~ I do believe that the V6 also has this feature but let's be right, you're not going to hit it with the 722.6 'box
Quite why
@bullyboy112 's is going immediately back to D from 4th still remains a mystery
