How do you like the Crossfire?
I like it a lot. It's been a fun little car for the last 3 years and still gets compliments/looks from people who have no idea what it is. Mechanically, it's every piece of the SLK320...there isn't a single Chrysler emblem on the car except for the front and the back (well, and the seats/steering wheel/wheels). Even the air pump in the trunk is branded MB. It feels pretty sporty for what it is, but would definitely benefit greatly from the SLK350 engine...

And hey, it got me interested in the SLK. I never liked the R170 design, but I love the R171. So, here I am.

-1- your beetle is stunning. love the numberplate.

I only remembered this was posted, but changed it to and your other car as well as past.

The white chrysler is nice, but im in no doubt that you will smile for many years after you get your slk!

My 2001 Montero Limited (aka Japanese Mountain Goat) - never put a foot wrong in the 4 years I had it.

AND my first Mercedes. 2000 C280 Sport special edition - this car comes to mind when I hear about MB quality issues.

Interior shot of the C280 seats with contrast stitching - factory, not AM.

The interior of your C280 looks very exclusive, I had one of those back in 94 it was a C180 Red with Cloth interior it used to be the extra spare car at home and I kept driving it from time to time. I think it stayed till 99 and was used everday until we bought the emerlad green ML320 in May 3 1999 and it was the DD.

My two current cars - I bought the blue one because it is so outstandingly boring. I do not wash it, tweak it or anything - I just use it to keep the miles off the SLK in bad weather etc.

2000 was the last year for that bodystyle, so this c280 sport special edition was fully loaded. I sold it last year for $14,000 and it had about 38k miles. I now have a '06 E350, '93 400e, and the '07 SLK55. Needless to say, beyond that C280 being my first Mercedes, I don't miss it much these days.

The C280 was always in for warranty work, and it got to the point where even my MB dealer told me to sell it.

I did order the SLK with the ash/black leather just because I think it's the sportiest, cleanest combination for a car interior.

The 400e is all blue, and that's a real treat.

Thank you for the information, I like that car W202 C-class we had both good memories and bad memories with it.

Firstly is my old bike (RIP)....

And then my previous car, a little Seat Ibiza. I had that for a bout a year and a half and had plans for it; alloys, engine mods, body mods etc..... but opted for the 230k instead :biglaugh:

What is the difference in price between the Crossfire and the SLK?
The sticker on my car was $35,755...I got it for just under $31K. The SLK320 is about 10K more sticker if I'm not mistaken? However, the SLK has the hard top convertible while the crossfire was solely a coupe for 2004, then also a soft top convertible for 2005+. The convertible added about 3K to the sticker. These cars sold so poorly that many people ended up getting at least 10K off sticker when buying them new if they knew where to look (ex, you could find a dealer with a 2004 at the end of 2005 and walk away paying 24K).

Mohammed, how do you like the XKR (compared to the SLK)? I thought about one when I was debating different cars, I sat in it but never drove it. While it was absolutely a gorgeous car, I just didn't get the right feel sitting inside it, and I decided that if I really wanted a car like that then I had to step up to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. :hail:
