I have to ask the question - Have you tried out the full range of seat position controls? -e.g., there's a lever on the outboard side of the seat (at least on 2000my R170 SLK's), that allows the driver's seat to be raised or lowered - Have you tried that out already?

I am 6' and don't have a problem. I don't have my seat all the way back but do have it in its lowest position. I have the steering wheel in it's furthest forward position too. If the SLK is you first experience of a two seater, you might expect it to feel more cramped than your average saloon. I personally like the 'enclosed' feeling when driving the car. I also have a Fiat Barchetta (as nearly destroyed by Hammond on Top Gear) and that is much smaller than the SLK and still not cramped. If youre interested in the SLK, I would persist with seat seat/steering wheel positions and have another test drive.

Best wishes

Steve

I'm 6'2" (34" inside leg) and it's perfect once you get the seat into the right position - I have about 2 inches headroom and the seat is not fully back. I strongly recommend getting a model with electric adjustable seats.
