I'm new to owning an SLK and as a proud owner set to cleaning and polishing it ready for the next sunny day (ahem).
I happened to have a quick look underneath at roadside and saw a long rod to be flaky/rusty. I don't know the name of the part but have identified it on the attached image circled in red.

Can anyone let me know the name of it please?

I think I got that sucker! LOL!
Something was telling me it'd be in Chassis Sheet Metal/Air Intake --> Engine Compartment Paneling. Why would they put Air Intake along with Chassis Sheet Metal? o_O
Anyways, here you go:
The part numbers:
A1705240047 - Front (2 required)
A1705240147 - Rear Left
A1705240247 - Rear Right
A0069902912 - Bolt (just in case, says 10 required).
These are called "Strut" in the system, or Reinforcement/Stiff bar
