It was a lovely morning to get the gummi out, and while cleaning and gummi'ing up a piece of plastic fell off the roof mechanism.

Once I found it it was pretty easy to see where it came from, and the one on the other side isn't in much better shape either.

I put it back on, but it's only being held in place by fear!

I've had a look around but can't find a part number for it. There are a few diagrams on a few sites but nothing that I could find useful.

Sorry that it's a pdf file, I couldn't get it to upload the jpg.

Has anyone got an idea of a part number?

Cheers

Hi
good day

Just today, I was just lubing my all rubber seals & notice this part, too.
It is in good condition and it should not get damaged in anyway at all
It should be snugly fitting.

For yours to be in damaged condition, then may I suggest that you check your alignment /adjustment of the roof especially after you have/if you have change to a new one.

Good luck to you.

Thank you & have a nice day

Yes that looks like the part. That will give me something to search google and ebay for. Failing that I'll try my friend at MB, but that usually involves payment with money AND beer!

The VIN is WDB1714542F218163.

Everything seems to align OK. The roof got stuck in the down position last summer and having no garage I grudgingly took it to MB and it took them 4 weeks to fix - 2 relays £15 + £400 labour!

When changing the third brake light earlier in the week I noticed that the left side boot trim hadn't been put back in right, and some of the push in clips that hold it in place were missing. Some of these should appear at the pub this Friday.

Anything could have happened while it was in there.......

Thanks for your help
