Whilst in this lockdown situation the car is sitting in the garage not going anywhere. I would like to leave the car without applying the parking brake, however I don't seem to be able to. If I don't press the P button and then turn off the ignition the brake is applied automatically. My question is, is there a way round this?

That went through my mind after washing and then having to park up for however long Jules.
Just found this:

You are a Diamond! Just tried the first method of holding the handle under the dash in the unlock position. Hey presto when i turned the ignition off and opened the doors the parking brake did not apply!?(y)(y) Thank you.

OR just block the wheels and leave it in neutral?

I've got electric brake but have to push the button to activate/release. If there was an option (as opposed to "standard" equip), I don't have it.
