I'm wary of any such treatments - after all, they mostly exist to bolster the dealer margin.

I'd much rather pay the same for a paint detailer who survives on his reputation and is more than happy for me to watch as I make him multiple cups of tea...

The warning signs are marketing b0ll0cks like 'revolutionary ceramic diamond coating as used by NASA'. The reality will be a silicon based sealant with filler properties to mask scratches applied as fast as possible by the cheapest labour available. I bet they won't let you watch...

There are ceramic finishes that can be applied, but in general they only work on a new car that has had extensive paint preparation and even then the actual life of the finish is only 12-18 months.

Save your money and spend it on a professional detail every 6 months. Your paintwork will thank you for it.
