Hi Folks!

Again my wife and I did the Oregon Coast for Independence Day. Other than the traffic through Portland, it was, again, a wonderful trip!

The SLK ran great throughout the trip and we were lucky to encounter four others. Another white one, a black one, and two silvers. We didn't have the opportunity to chat as they were in opposing traffic.

As always the seafood was without comparison. From the local joint named The Newport Cafe with it's OUTSTANDING seafood menu to Local Ocean Seafoods with the best Dungeness Crab Po' Boy in existence we managed to get our fix! The best ambiance in the world is at The Tidal Rave just North of Depoe Bay. They also have an outstanding Habanero Bloody Mary!

BTW, my driving hat is from Duluth Trading and is wonderful!

Lovin the hat - looks like y'all had a great time.
You know, I've always got a sunburn driving with the top down. I read about these "oil cloth" driving hats and how they stayed "on". Honestly, they work! I bought two. One oil cloth for $29 and one summer for $15. I can't recommend them enough. They really DO stay on!

Glad you had a great time. We were on the coast as well, but about 25 miles north in Lincoln City. Hope you had a chance to watch the Whales. We saw about 5 or 6 over the weekend.

We had a wonderful time! We were able to attend the farmer's market in Newport this time around. We missed it last time.

It was a great outing. Hope yours was too!
