I suppose it really depends on the type of damage. But for the most part, I would say no.

Where do you live? Update your signature, and that will help us make suggestions. The prices on older SLKs varies a lot, depending on where you are and which model you buy. You could get an older 230 that has been well maintained for a pretty reasonable price. Even the older SLKs are very nice, reliable cars. For every year or model you move forward, the price goes up.

If I was buying, I'd find a really nice older one, and avoid a damaged car. Have a look on Ebay, just to get a feel for the market...

damage is the front clip of the car. fenders lights radiator support radiator hood ect. im told suspension and frame are all straight.
as for the cars im really only interested in a slk 32 or maybe a 320. want the 6 cylinder and preferably the supercharged 6. i found this 1 on ebay with 11k in miles on a 2002 slk32. if i dont get it ill just keep saving for my dream car. it just seems llike a way to own a super car i otherwise may not be able to afford

Parts are out there. Read this link from another forum:

This guy is rebuilding his car from the front back, bit by bit. Keep your eye on the market, tho. I bet that prices will drop as the economy worsens. Another guys misfortune could be your windfall. I have the 320, and it is a great car. I occasionally look at the market for a new one, and prices have fallen several thousand dollars in the last year. If they keep it up, I may try to find a nice SLK55. Good luck with your search and keep us posted on the progress.
